Dear Friend,

Verdun Adventure Bound NEEDS YOUR HELP to continue to provide impactful programming serving the youth and adults of Fauquier, Rappahannock, and Culpeper Counties. Our beloved founder, Dr. David Snyder who has given so much to our organization and to the community is moving away from the Snyder home. We are deeply saddened to see our beloved founder and friend moving away; his infectious smile and energy have become an essential part of our day. We look forward to continuing Doc’s legacy for decades to come and will strive to maintain his highly impactful work even if he is not here to inspire us on a daily basis.

With the sale of the Snyder home the existing driveway easement is extinguished. Unfortunately, this means we are in need of a quarter mile of new driveway construction in order to maintain vehicle access to this incredible property “Doc” has nurtured over the past 22 years.

There are some great benefits to this project. The new driveway will be wide enough to allow for two lane traffic (a commodity we have never had) and the drainage issues that plagued our current driveway will no longer exist with the new water mitigation plan. However, the new route will involve significant excavation, significant rainwater management, clearing of wooded areas, materials, and labor. The cost for this project is $115,000.00.

As we are sure you know and have even experienced personally, Doc has touched the lives of so many. Now we are looking to donors like you to show your support for all of the great work Doc and the organization he founded has done in this community. As a small Non-Profit Organization recovering from the pandemic, this is a devastating expense.

We cannot thank our generous supporters enough, especially over the past two years. Without the contributions of philanthropists like you and the impressive network of grant organizations in our community, Verdun may not have survived 2020. However, thanks to the vast support that Dr. Snyder has cultivated and inspired over the years, we not only survived, but we are on the path to growing our impact in the community. We are asking that you help us to continue on this path forward. Any contribution to this project will be added to the $30,000 already received from the PATH Foundation and will be greatly appreciated as we seek to reach our target of $115,000. Thank you for your generosity and your continued support!
